I like the way rice is served elegantly in restaurants . How can I make rice to put in bowls and then invert onto plate ?

Put the rice in a ramiken or small bowl and press it in,then unmold over the serving plate.

I’m 52 and every meal I ate for the first 18 years of my life was cooked by my mama. There was only one restaurant in my small town. I still live in that same small town and there are at least 50 restaurants in the area. My wife never cooks. How long will it be before we don’t even have a kitchen in our houses?

It isn’t miso soup (no tofu, no seaweed). It’s just a light simple soup.
I’d like to know what it’s called & how to make it!

First off, miso doesn’t refer to the tofu and seaweed in the soup. Miso is a fermented paste made from soybeans, and it’s often used to make soup broth. Tofu and seaweed are just common toppings for miso soup.
Japanese clear soup stock is called dashi. There are lots of different types, usually made from things like fish, sea vegetable, and mushrooms.
